Showing
Your Path to the Show Ring
Showing is an exciting way for riders to set goals, build confidence, and grow both in and out of the saddle. Our program is designed to support riders at every stage—from their very first show experience to competing on the biggest stages in the sport. While our primary focus is American Saddlebreds and saddle seat competition, we also work with riders and horses in disciplines and breeds that are similar in style and nature.
We offer a clear, progressive path that allows riders to develop skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose over time, with thoughtful guidance at each level.
Introductory Competition: Local Tournaments
Local tournaments are a relaxed, welcoming introduction to the show ring. These events are hosted by us and other local saddle seat barns, with barns taking turns hosting throughout the year. Riders compete on our dependable lesson horses in a supportive environment that encourages learning and confidence-building.
Tournaments are ideal for riders who are new to showing or who simply need more ring time to advance their skills. Riders also have the opportunity to earn year-end High Point awards, with points accumulated each time they show and ribbon—adding an extra layer of motivation and excitement while keeping the experience fun and approachable.
Developing Competition: Academy Classes
Academy classes offer a more involved and competitive showing experience while still allowing riders to compete on lesson horses. These classes are held at regional horse shows and include travel, preparation, and a true show atmosphere. Competition is stronger, and riders are challenged to demonstrate consistency, polish, and continued improvement in the ring.
For many riders, Academy showing is a rewarding goal in its own right. It provides the opportunity to compete at a high level, travel to well-known venues, and be part of the larger saddle seat show community—without the responsibility of owning a horse.
Competitive Showing: Regional Shows
Regional shows represent a major milestone for riders who are ready to compete on their own horse. At this level, riders begin to focus more intentionally on refining performance, building consistency, and developing a strong partnership with their horse. The competition is deeper, and the experience becomes more immersive and goal-driven.
We support riders and families throughout this stage by assisting with horse selection and purchase, creating customized training programs, and preparing both horse and rider to feel confident, capable, and excited heading into each show.
Advanced Competition: National & World Championships
National and World Championship shows are often the realization of a long-term goal or dream. Reaching this level reflects years of dedication, growth, and teamwork between horse and rider. These events bring together riders from across the country who share a deep commitment to the sport and a passion for competing at the highest level.
Our role is to help riders prepare for these moments with intention and care—developing horses over time, supporting riders through the challenges and milestones along the way, and ensuring that when they step into the ring, they do so with confidence, pride, and a sense of accomplishment.
Our Role in Your Horse Show Journey
No matter where you begin—or where you want your show ring journey to take you—our focus is on creating a positive, structured, and rewarding experience for both horse and rider. We help riders and horses set meaningful goals, develop the skills needed to achieve them, and grow together through every stage of the showing process.
If you’re interested in learning more about showing or exploring which level may be the right fit, we’re always happy to talk through the options and help you plan a path that supports both your goals and your enjoyment of the sport.
