Camps at Laurel Ridge are the perfect opportunity to introduce kids to the wonderful world of horses! Our facility provides kids the opportunity to build their equine knowledge in a safe, hands-on environment. We combine a qualified staff, experienced horses, and a picturesque facility to create an atmosphere where campers can advance their horseback riding skills, expand their horsemanship expertise, and build lifelong friendships. With regular camps for budding equestrians aged 7-14 years old, and a tiny tot camp for kids 4-6, we have a place for everyone. Indoor and outdoor riding arenas mean weather can’t ruin all the fun and learning kids are sure to enjoy at Laurel Ridge Stables. Check out all of our camp options below!
Spring and Summer Camp
During select weeks in March, June, and July, our day camps run Monday- Friday from 9:00 am- 3:00 pm. Campers will enjoy daily private riding lessons Monday-Friday and a second group lesson Monday- Thursday, with a “horse show” performance for parents on Friday at pick up. At Laurel Ridge, we know that an accomplished horseman (and horsewoman!) has “horse sense,” extending far beyond time in the saddle. To foster this lifelong skill set, we provide daily horse related crafts and educational opportunities. Campers will enjoy plenty of hands-on horse time, either on their backs or on the ground. Watch as your child’s knowledge and confidence grows throughout the week as they learn or improve many skills, including horse safety, care, grooming, feeding, and so much more! Our camp certificate system gives kids the opportunity to “level up” their equine abilities and learn a new skill set each week they attend, making camp great for any skill level! $550/ week, $110 deposit due at registration.*
Tiny Tot Camp
Did you know we have our very own unicorn at Laurel Ridge Stables? But, jealous of her impressive powers and mystical beauty, our two mischievous donkeys have stolen her magic, and the unicorn needs the help of the tiniest and mightiest equestrians to get it back! But what is a noble knight or a brave, fair lady without their very own trusty steed? Monday-Friday from 9 am to noon, each child will help care for and ride a few very special horses, engaging in age-appropriate, horse-related activities, and learning ground skills necessary to find and unlock treasure boxes where the mules have hidden the unicorn magic. At pick-up on Friday, if campers have completed their quest, the Laurel Ridge Stables unicorn will be restored to her rightful, magical splendor, sporting her unicorn horn for pictures and a riding demonstration! Can your tiny tot help our unicorn find her magic? $350/ week, $70 deposit due at registration.*
Holiday Camp
Looking for activities to keep kids busy during holiday breaks? Horses make great caregivers! Holiday day camps are packed with an assortment of fun holiday and horse-themed activities. Suited for all skill levels, each camper enjoys a riding and “horse sense” lesson to build confidence and horsemanship, all while celebrating the spirit of the season. The best way to spend breaks from school is at the barn! Like our Facebook page and check in often for dates/times of these one-of-a-kind equine experiences. Ages 7 and up unless in regular lessons, $110/ day, balance due at registration.*
Weekend Camp
Hosted on Saturdays, these camps are a great way to get kids out of the house so hard-working parents can enjoy a date night, uninhibited shopping trips, or even just to enjoy quiet time! Kids will enjoy games played on horseback, crafts, and other horse-related activities. These camps are perfectly suited for all riders, whether it is their first introduction to the equine world, or simply an opportunity to experience the barn in a different way.
